Trips
The Arcticflow is designed for adventure! However, safety and getting to your destination in one piece are key. Existing RIB models did not meet Hilko van de Paard’s RIB requirements, and there were two ways to handle that: either accept it or design his very own RIB. Being an entrepreneur, the latter is exactly the route Hilko chose to take. His basic requirements as such were simple enough: a top speed exceeding 100 km/h, a > 1,000 km range and safe performance in rough conditions.

Arrival in Scarborough
Destination Scarborough. On the Dutch island of Texel, both the boat and the crew were provided with fuel and everything was all set for departure. After some 5 hours of plain sailing in favourable weather, it was ‘land ho’ and the boat entered the harbour of Scarborough, in England, soon after. Good company, a charming hotel, great food, and a visit to the pub made this trip the perfect outing. On returning home to Urk, the Netherlands the next morning, refuelling was not necessary, which made it a relaxed trip for both the Arcticflow and its crew.
